MINNEAPOLIS– The Tom Hoch for Minneapolis mayoral campaign announced today that it has raised more than $227,000 as of July 25, the financial reporting date required by Hennepin County Elections. The Hoch Campaign will enter the final leg of summer campaigning with $145,574 cash on hand.
“This report shows early, broad-based, and intense support for Tom Hoch’s campaign and his message of common-sense leadership at City Hall,” said Hoch Campaign Manager Kieran McCarney. “This outstanding level of financial support for a first-time candidate confirms that Minneapolis is hungry for a change at the top.”
Since announcing his candidacy for Mayor of Minneapolis in February, Hoch has amassed 792 individual donations from 642 unique donors that span a wide range of racial, ethnic and geographic boundaries. 68% of Hoch’s donors live in Minneapolis, while another 26% live in Minnesota – many of whom commute into Minneapolis on a regular basis. Tom Hoch also loaned his campaign $226,344 during the period, bringing overall campaign receipts to a substantial $442,083 in just five months.
“Tom’s investment in this race is consistent with his long history of investment in the betterment of Minneapolis. If he’s asking people to support his campaign, he wants show a similar commitment,” added McCarney. “We’re 100% confident that we will have all the resources necessary to run a smart, robust and successful campaign all the way through November.”
